I have gotten word from a very credible source that the 878 is not retired, but is out of service and highly unlikely to be returned to service. She isn’t razor blades yet, but the odds are against her.

Due to a collision with a logging truck the BLE 905 is currently out of service and stored in Greenville. Future of this unit is uncertain at this time.

Very strong rumor is that CN 5245 was dropped off by the NS local at Shenango today.
Mark the day 10/14/13 the first CN power arrived on the Bessemer Sub possibly bringing the curtain call to all black & orange lash-ups.

All orange and black lash ups may be coming to an end, but the tradition of trading motive power keeps going. The Bessemer always traded locomotives around with their sister USX roads due to either a surplus of power or during power shortages. Now CN keeps the tradition alive with the arrival of 5245. This isn't the first time CN has shuffled equipment around, a few of our excess Tunnel Motors went to the former DM&IR a few years back. The B&LE may be gone, but the legacy started during the USX days lives on!

BLE 905 has returned to the Bessy, the 5245 was sent back to the CN main system. Looks like the BLE is back to all Herritage power once more.

CN 5347 and CN 5422 have been added to the roster as of now. It is uncertain how long these two will stick around.

BLE 878 has been reactivated but not on the BLE sub at this time.
CN 5347 and CN 5422 are both still in service on the BLE sub seeing regular mainline action. The 5422 has seen a lot of time as a leader.

Current power assigned to P&C dock
862 867 868
This reflects the power assignment at the docks before the loss of the coal contracts.
