What does a typical day on the B&LE look like? I experienced two southbound ore loads depart Conneaut on a Saturday and a Tuesday in mid-to-late morning. Is that about right? What about NB's? Do trains run on an as-needed basis? Is Greenville even a factor with run-through moves, or do the crews work the extreme ends? Sorry for all the questions? I am COMPLETELY new to the B&LE. Trains do run on an as-needed basis. But, typically, from my observations, on the north end, a NB will arrive Conneaut around 8 AM (give or take) with empties, and depart south 1-2 hours later. A second NB will arrive late morning to mid afternoon, and repeat the process. This basically holds 7 days a week.
I stress "typical;" there are exceptions.
All train change crews in the Greenville area.
An occasional (maybe 2-3 per month) move is made on the Erie Branch to switch Emsco in Girard.
Good Luck, and keep the photos coming. Suggestion: reduce to about 900 dpi width before posting.
