Does anyone happen to know when the Bessemer started repainting the F units into the simplified orange and black scheme? Specifically trying to find out when 719A was repainted, found a photo of it wearing the simplified paint scheme in August of 1965.

I will look through my notes.
It is a shame.. Mitch who was on the old board had so much information on B&LE paint I know we have had multiple conversations on the topic. First F unit, SD18 etc etc and variations of the paint schemes.... All lost now, but I did take some notes.
Lets just hope I can find them

Not all lost. I believe I moved the first non-striped engine over here (822, 1964, never wore the stripe). My own personal research pointed to the 722A being the last striped locomotive (1978 or 79 I believe).
As far as individual units such as 719A, good luck. I doubt many people can point to a specific date. Maybe years but really not months and days.
Mitch was the man when it came to that stuff. I noticed a lot of what he would talk about before he talked about it, and I saw some things on my own. Like the wide spaced unit numbers on early SD9's, how only one RSD had the side stripe but no V shaped points on the end, and my favorite, the upside down radiator shutters on a couple of the Alcos .
