Caught a rare move yesterday (wed Nov 29) from afar. Spotted two orange units (905 & 867 I'm guessing) and a TTX boxcar sitting at the northern end of the Allegheny River Bridge. They started moving north and figured they were heading for the Bennett supply siding or leaving. By the time I got up there, no trace, and headed for North Bessemer and found nothing but an empty yard (save for cars in storage). Guess they ran light with it headed north. Track looked burnished just south of the Nixon Rd crossing, so guess it was indeed a pickup. The Bennett siding is sort of a switchback, so a loco or 2 with a boxcar in tow heads up the siding, past a switch, then backs or picks up a car. Never saw the operation up close, so don't know how they swap cars out. Google map satellite view: Bennett Supply 300 Business Center Dr, Cheswick The Railbox looked like a twin door, but too far to tell. Next time you see one in N. Bessemer, it's likely destined for Bennett. Looked sorta like this, but it was a long way off: www.athearn.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=ATH75053

Well, I finally dug out my old password and got things reset to get back in the mix.
That car you referenced from the 29th is probably the same one I saw 905 (facing south) and an IC unit with about a week prior. Caught them at along Little Deer Creek Rd and they lost me trying to get down to the AID. They were not at the AID when I arrived though. The only thing I could come up with was that they went to North Bessemer to run around the car, and then spotted it at Bennett on the way north. You would think they would just use the passing track on the AID to do that, but maybe they did not have permission to move the M-of-W WC ballast car that is sitting there??
