CSXT plans to restructure its Northern District (former Conrail) and territory covered by the Eastern District and parts of the Western District (former B&O) operating and crew districts to create a new "Northern Mid-Atlantic District". Of note to readers of this board is that on the map that accompanied the notice, the 'dormant' CSXT trackage rights over Norfolk Southern between Youngstown and Shenango via Sharon (plus their very active trackage rights over Norfolk Southern between Youngstown and Ashtabula) are included in this new district just announced. This map was just a highlighted version of a previous map, so before there is wild speculation on this forum, let me state that this development appears to mean nothing new for the Shenango CSXT/B&LE (CN) interchange: it merely shows up as being an endpoint on a map.
"CSX Transportation, Inc. ("CSXT") is serving notice, pursuant to Article I, Section 4 of the New York Dock employee protective conditions imposed in Finance Docket No. 33388, of its proposal to consolidate and coordinate train operations, employees, and related facilities in the territory covered by the Northern District (former Conrail), and the territory covered by the Eastern District and certain contiguous parts of the Western District (former B&O), to create a larger territory for train operations, to be known as the Northern Mid-Atlantic District."
